Bambo Nature nappies, why they’re so good

By admin · Tuesday, October 26th, 2010 · No Comments »

Bambo Nature Disposable Nappies, CHOICE magazine’s recommended ‘Green Buy’ for disposable nappies

CHOICE, the Australian consumer magazine, reviewed more than 14 brands of disposable nappies, and recommended just three of these. Bambo Nature was one of these and is the recommended ‘Green Buy’ for disposable nappies. At ecobabe we stock all of the eco-disposables reviewed and they all got the thumbs up :)

Why Bambo Nature nappies are so good? They keepbaby dry and comfortable with a lower eco footprint

About Bambo Nature nappies:

Bambo Nature nappies were the first product we stocked at ecobabe, and that was nearly 5 years ago. Since then, we’ve sold about 4000 cartons of these nappies and they are gaining popularity with each month.

Damien’s Celery, Tomato & Ditalini (small pasta) soup

By Jayne · Saturday, June 19th, 2010 · No Comments »

Here’s a cold cure, that doesn’t contain garlic. This is a delicious soup that brings back lovely memories of weekends away with wonderful people. Recipe is for a single serve for a family of 4, next time I cook it I will double the ingredients.

2 tbs Olive Oil
1 large onion
2 celery sticks
3 vine ripened tomatoes
1.5l chicken stock (is use Massel brand “chicken” - vegan - stock)
1/2 cup Ditalini - or any other small soup pasta
2 tbs chopped parsley

Cook off onion & celery in olive oil
Skin and deseed tomatoes (this step is worth it, I cut a cross at the non stalk end and blanch in boiling water for 1 min. to loosen the skins
Add stock & tomatoes to celery & onions and bring to the boi
Add pasta, cook til al dente
Serve with pepper & salt and parsley

We love ours with warmed crusty olive sourdough bread and butter. You could always add some dried chili to clear out the sinuses

By Jayne · Tuesday, May 11th, 2010 · 1 Comment »

We are doing some update maintenance to our site. This work is long overdue but has been put off due to a third party’s timeline. I’ve decided that we’ll just get a move on and do it ourselves! So bear with me while I make the ecobabe website a better place to shop for your chemical-free products for baby, family and home.

Li’L Ludy Swim (aqua) nappies

By Jayne · Friday, April 30th, 2010 · No Comments »

There comes a time when every little girl is in need of a good swim nappy. A gorgeous piece of swimwear to protect the pool and her friends from mishaps.

Introducing these gorgeous, Australian made - sweatshop free, Italian lycra aqua nappies. Complete with a waterproof lining and a ‘poo catcher’ gusset. What princess could bare to be without a Li’l Ludy swim nappy. There’s nothing nasty or throwaway about the Li’l Ludy swim nappy the nappies have been cleverly designed to include a snap and tie closing side to allow for easy removal in case of solids (aka poo in the nappy), you simply drop the poo into the toilet, wash/rinse the nappy and you’re off again.

I don’t know about your family, but we swim all year round.

And like the Envirosax, stocks are limited, what we have is all there is

We swim all year around, swimming lessons are very high on our agenda. Plus I’m already planning a winter break somewhere warm and breezy and a million miles away from school runs, childcare, swimming lessons, ballet lessons, garbage night and work.

New in store: Uimi knits

By Jayne · Saturday, April 10th, 2010 · No Comments »

I am so in love with these beautiful knitted blankets, booties, bonnets and caps from the lovely people at Uimi. All pieces are knit in Australia and are made with love, so much love that you can feel it in each of the pieces. I was lucky enough to snap up a Uimi scarf for myself, I can’t wait for the cooler weather so that I can start to wear it.
